New organizer in Baltic Touring Car Championship, "Baltic Time Attack" series returns
As the new racing season approaches, a new organizer has entered Baltic circuit racing, formed by a highly experienced team. This season, "Baltic Racing Series" will organize two exciting races – "Pärnu Summer Race" and "Riga Summer Race" – and after several years of hiatus, will bring back the "Baltic Time Attack" series, gathering the fastest representatives of this discipline in the Baltics. Additionally, the main discipline of the races – the two-hour endurance race for fast GT and BTC4 class race cars in the "Hankook Endurance Challenge" format – will be restored with new quality.
The "Baltic Racing Series" as the organizer will be supervised by Jānis Ducmanis, the long-time head of the Baltic Touring Car Championship (BaTCC) and the LAF Council member / Head of Racing Commission, and Andris Griķis, a master of Latvian motorsport and a member of the LAF Racing Commission Council.
Together they form an excellent tandem as Jānis Ducmanis has over 10 years of experience in both race organization and leading the LAF Racing Commission, while Andris Griķis has been involved in motorsport for several decades and has also taken on the role of the Race Director of Baltic circuit racing events for the past two years, thus understanding all the processes happening on the track. Most importantly, both breathe and live motorsport, unable to imagine their lives without the roar of engines and battles on the track. Their goal is to attract a large number of participants from all Baltic Sea region countries with impeccable event quality and high work ethics at all levels.
"The fact that another organizer has appeared in the Baltic Touring Car Championship is generally good, as a new team enters the playing field, giving the championship additional boost. Accordingly, each organizer can focus more vigorously on their own events. This will not promote any mutual competition but will raise the overall quality of the championship as we work towards one goal – the development of the circuit racing discipline. It can be said that both organizer teams will not compete, but will complement each other," said Jānis Ducmanis about the new organizer distribution in the Baltic Touring Car Championship.
Andris Griķis adds: "We are convinced that new enthusiasts are needed in the circuit racing environment, and they could come through the "Baltic Time Attack" series and community. Therefore, in cooperation with partners in Lithuania (Ring Challenge), in Latvia (Superlaps) and in Estonia (Fast Lap) we will work particularly in this direction, as it will be a step between regional "time attack" type series and the Baltic Touring Car Championship. Our second significant direction is the "Hankook Endurance Challenge," which will be a two-hour endurance race, as we are convinced that this series, focused on teams and fast, beautiful cars, is viable in our region. The third unique thing is that we will work on attracting various satellite classes to our events – for example, this year, only at our events will the historic formulas or "Formula Historic" championship be visible on the starting grid.”
This season, the "Baltic Racing Series" team will organize two of the six Baltic Circuit Racing Championship (BaTCC) stages – at the beginning of July in Estonia, at the Porschering track in Pärnu, the annual "Pärnu Summer Race" will happen, while at the end of August, after a five-year hiatus, the popular "Riga Summer Race" will return to the Biķernieki race track. Both races will be like festivals for both participants and spectators, where not only the fastest Baltic circuit racing drivers and teams will be on the starting grid, but also the fastest Time Attack discipline representatives from all three Baltic countries will gather. Importantly, at both races spectators will be able to visit the paddock, meet the drivers, and see the impressive racing equipment up close.
Speaking about "Baltic Time Attack," it should be noted that three stages are planned for this series return season, taking place in all three Baltic countries. In addition to the previously mentioned stages "Pärnu Summer Race" and "Riga Summer Race," the "Baltic Time Attack" stage in Lithuania will be held together with the "Ring Challenge" series at the challenging "Nemuno Žiedas" track. Detailed information about the "Baltic Time Attack" 2025 season, including the full calendar, regulations, and technical rules, will be available in May at www.balticracingseries.eu.
It should be noted that work is still actively ongoing on the creation of the new website, where all information about the races and series organized by "Baltic Racing Series" will be available. It will be user-friendly and will also place great emphasis on the racers and racing teams themselves. We also invite you to follow the "Baltic Racing Series" social media accounts where you can not only learn about race news but also find exciting information about participants, teams, and circuit racing in general.
